The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a long, low to the ground dog. They have very short legs compared to their long bodies. Their oval eyes are a shade of brown depending on their coat color. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are sometimes born with no tail at all but if they are born with tails they are docked as short as possible. The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is highly intelligent, loyal, able and willing to please their owners. Pembroke’s are great with children as long as they see you as their master in the pack. By being protective and sturdy they make excellent guard dogs, despite there small stature, and great show dogs, obedience dogs, and companions. You have to be careful though because they can be wary of strangers without the right socialization.  Corgis do fine in apartments if they are exercised regularly because they are naturally active dogs.
