Stray Dog Will Have New Family

DSCN1367
Hello Belinda, Winnie & Scout:

The stray dog was very dirty when I found her, so my niece Melissa came over and gave the dog a much needed bath.  It was then we discovered the dog was a female (good guess B–you have an eye for such details).  Melissa made an appointment with Snickers and Moy Moy’s groomer on Monday to get rid of all the dirty bad hair.  When Melissa made the appointment the groomer asked what the dog’s name was and Melissa said she didn’t have a name because her uncle found the dog underneath a pickup truck.  Frank the groomer told her we’ll make the appointment for “Unknown.”

When family members and Dev came over for dinner on Easter Sunday, they asked what the name of the dog was.  I said her name was Unknown.  When I told my sister-in-law Kerri the dog’s name was Unknown, she mistakenly thought I said Emily.  I said that would be a good name for her.  Kerri said it fit, started making comparisons: Sir Edmund —–> Lady Emily.  I told Kerri her name was Unknown until Melissa took her to the vet to scan for a microchip.  I didn’t want to get too attached to the dog in case someone wanted to adopt her, or it had a microchip in their neck and belonged to someone else.

Melissa took Unknown to the veterinarian Sunday evening and they told her their was no microchip in her neck.  The vet also estimated Unknown is probably no older than 6 months old.  After much persuasion from family (including his Lordship) and friends, I have reluctantly decided to adopt Emily.  Plus Emily is one of the few dogs the Earl of Pembroke gets along with.  Emily enjoys playing chase with Edmund.  However to be fair to his Lordship, Emily will not be receiving a title anytime soon until she attends obedience school or at least learns some basic commands.  Below is Melissa, Emily (formerly Unknown) and the Earl of Pembroke.  Edmund has commanded the chefs at Buckingham Palace to prepare some rich dishes so she will be as shapely as the well fed blue blooded royal.

All the best,

Randy
